"I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go:
I will guide thee with mine eye"
"Truly the light sweet, and pleasant for the eyes to
behold the sun" Light and Sun = Jesus Christ
Matthew 6:22-23 "22 The light of the body is the eye:
if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.23
But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light
that is in thee be darkness, how great that darkness!
John 16:13-14 "13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth
is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, shall he speak:
and he will shew you things to come.14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew unto you
Galatians 4:6-7 "6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts crying, Abba
Father.7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ"
Romans 8:15-16 "15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of
adoption, whereby we cry Abba Father.16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit that we are the children of God"
The Eye = the Lord Jesus Christ
Single eye = to see The Lord Jesus Christ as the Bread and Water and in
many more pictures (spiritually) throughout the Bible.
Evil eye = to see physical things out of the word of God.
Luke 11:33-36 "33 No man, when he hath lighted a candle putteth in a secret place, neither under a bushel, but
on a candlestick that they which come in see the light.34 The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single
thy whole body also is full of light; but when is evil, thy body also full of darkness.35 Take heed therefore that the light
which is in thee be not darkness.36 If thy whole body therefore full of light having no part dark, the whole shall be full
of light, as when the bright shining of a candle doth give thee light"
John 8:1-12 "1 Jesus went unto
the mount of Olives.2 And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat
down, and taught them.3 And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her
in the midst,4 They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.5 Now Moses in the law commanded
us, that such be stoned: but what sayest thou?6 This they said, tempting him, that they have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped
down, and with finger wrote on the ground,7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He
that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.8 And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground.9 And
they which heard [it], being convicted by [their own] conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest unto the last:
and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.10 When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman,
he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said
unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the
world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life"
Verse 9 "And
they which heard, being convicted by [their own] conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest unto the last: and
Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst"
Look to the addition in this verse:"their
own" has been added to the original, lets read it without: verse 9 "And they which heard, being convicted by conscience,
went out one by one, beginning at the eldest unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst"
Conscience = Christ; His Spirit convicts man of sin.
convict = 1) to convict, refute,
confute. a) generally with a suggestion of shame of the person convicted. b) by conviction
to bring to the light, to expose. 2) to find fault with, correct. a) by word 1)
to reprehend severely, chide, admonish, reprove. 2) to call to account, show one his fault, demand an explanation
b) by deed 1) to chasten, to punish.
John 16:8-15 " 8 And when he is come, he will
reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;10 Of righteousness,
because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.12 I have yet
many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth is come, he will guide you
into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear shall he speak: and he will shew you things
to come.14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew unto you.15 All things that the Father hath are
mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine and shall shew unto you"
Reprove = 1)
to convict, refute, confute a) generally with a suggestion of shame of the person convicted b)
by conviction to bring to the light, to expose 2) to find fault with, correct a) by word
1) to reprehend severely, chide, admonish, reprove 2) to call to account, show one his fault, demand

The religious people in Jesus'
time were convicted/reproved by Him. Most people do not see themselves as sinners, especially religious ones. Only by the
Spiriit of Christ I can see myself (convicted/reproved) as a sinner. A "mind void of offence"
is to be sought and only in Christ I find my mind void of offences. Romans 4:20-25 "20 He staggered not
at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;21 And being fully persuaded that what
he had promised, he was able also to perform.22 And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.23 Now it was not written
for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him;24 But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that
raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification"
God's chosen people look to Christ for the justification of the soul and we are persuaded by His Spirit of the promise
of forgiveness of sins and eternal life through His blood.
Psalm 32:5-8 "5 I acknowledged my sin unto
thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity
of my sin. Selah.6 For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou be found: surely in the floods
of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him.7 Thou my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt
compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.8 I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I
will guide thee with mine eye"
Verse 6: To be godly does not mean I am not a sinner, this is what false teachers
believe and teach; on the contrary, every one that is godly will confess sins unto the Lord daily.
Palm
79:9 Help us, O God of our salvation, for
the glory of thy name: and deliver us, and purge away our sins, for thy name's sake. 1 John 1:5-10 "5 This then is the message which we have
heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.6 If we say that we have fellowship
with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have
fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.8 If we say that we have no sin,
we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us sins, and
to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us"
Isaiah 51:7 "Hearken unto me, ye that know righteousness, the people in whose heart my law; fear ye not the reproach
of men, neither be ye afraid of their revilings"
God's law = The Lord jesus Christ
Psalm 27:1 "The LORD my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD the strength of my life; of whom shall
I be afraid?"
John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness,
but shall have the light of life. John 12:42-46 "42 Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because
of the Pharisees they did not confess, lest
they be put out of the synagogue:43 For
they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.44 Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me.45 And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me.46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth
on me abide not in darkness. Isaiah
63:7-8 7 I will mention the lovingkindnesses
of the LORD, and the praises of the LORD, according to all that the LORD hath bestowed
on us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which he hath bestowed on them according to his mercies, and according
to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses.8 For he said, Surely they are my people, children will not lie: so he was their Saviour. God's
elect/chosen people do not lie about His Salvation, we proclaim it! To follow Christ is to
trust in Him for the Salvation of the soul in the midst of trials and falls. Christ is the Eye of the body; Christ is the
Light of the Eye. To have a single Eye is to look to Christ always.
The eye of a true child of
God sees a continous Light. Psam 25:14 The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them
his covenant.
PRAISE THE LORD JESUS CHRIST!
