Parable

But without a parable spake he not unto them: and when they were alone, he expounded all things to his disciples

Psalm 78:2 "I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old"

Parable = proverb, parable a) proverbial saying b) byword c) similitude
d)
poem e) sentences of ethical wisdom, ethical maxims

Today's definition = 1- a short allegorical story designed to illustrate or teach truth, religious principle, or moral lesson. 2- a statement or comment that conveys a meaning indirectly by the use of comparison, analogy, or the like.

Matthew 13:33-35 "33 Another parable spake he unto them; The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.34 All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them:35 That it be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world"

Luke 13:20-21 "20 And again he said, Whereunto shall I liken the kingdom of God?21 It is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened"

Leaven = fermentation, leaven.

Today's definition = noun 1- a substance, as yeast or baking powder, that causes fermentation and expansion of dough or batter. 2-an element that produces an altering or transforming influence. Verb 1- to add leaven to (dough or batter) and cause to rise. 2- to permeate with an altering or transforming element.

Leaven = the Lord Jesus Christ.

Three measures of meal = 1) Baptism 2) tithing and 3) Communion.

1) Baptism
Acts 8:36 "And as they went on way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said: See, water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?

Water = the Lord Jesus Christ

Psalm 74:4 "Thine enemies roar in the midst of thy congregations; they set up their *ensigns, signs.

*Ensign = 1) sign, signal a) a distinguishing mark b) banner c) miraculous sign
e)
warning 2) token, ensign, standard, miracle, proof.

Freewill of man doctrine teachers rule in Christian congregations, they bring their own false teachings/heresies or ensigns.

Isaiah 41:17 "the poor and needy seek water, and none; their tongue faileth for thirst, I the LORD will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them"

False teachers cannot see Christ is the Water, therefore cannot do any good to God's poor and needy people.

Psalm 72:12-14 "12 For he shall deliver the needy when he crieth; the poor also, and that hath no helper.13 He shall spare the poor and needy, and shall save the souls of the needy.14 He shall redeem their soul from deceit and violence: and precious shall their blood be in his sight"

He = God, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Deliver and spare the poor and needy = I Timothy 1:15 "This a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief"

2) Tithing
Malachi 3:10 "Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that not enough"

Meat = the Lord Jesus Christ

House = man is the house (either the house of God or the house of devils)

Psalm 111:5 "He hath given meat unto them that fear him: he will ever be mindful of his covenant"

The covenant in Christ:
Colossians 1:19-23 "19 For it pleased that in him all fulness dwell;20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, whether things in earth, or things in heaven.21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in mind by *wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight;23 If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard; which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister"

*Wicked works = to believe I need to or can do something to save my soul.

Hope of the Gospel = I Timothy 1:15 "This a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief"

My blessings are spiritual, so my tithing is spiritual.
Ephesians 1:3 "Blessed the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly in Christ"

3) Communion
1 Corinthians 10:16-17 "16 The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?17 For we many are one bread, one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread"

Bread = the Lord Jesus Christ

Psalm 104:15 "And wine maketh glad the heart of man, oil to make face to shine, and bread strengtheneth man's heart"

Wine = Gospel of Salvation
Ephesians 1:13 "In whom ye also, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise"

Oil = Joy of Salvation
Psalm 51:12 "Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me free spirit"

Ecclesiastes 8:1 " Who as the wise? and who knoweth the interpretation of a thing? a man's wisdom maketh his face to shine, and the boldness of his face shall be changed"

Isaiah 61:3 "To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he be glorified"

Bread = Christ
Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me"

Psalm 27:1 "The LORD my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

Psalm 132:13-16 "13 For the LORD hath chosen Zion; he hath desired for his habitation.14 This my rest for ever: here will I dwell; for I have desired it.15 I will abundantly bless her provision: I will satisfy her poor with bread.16 I will also clothe her priests with salvation: and her saints shall shout aloud for joy"

Zion = God's elect/chosen people.

Psalm 49:1-4 "1 Hear this, all people; give ear, all inhabitants of the world:2 Both low and high, rich and poor, together.3 My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart of understanding.4 I will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my dark saying upon the harp"

Verse 3 "My mouth shall speak of wisdom (Christ); and the meditation of my heart of understanding (Christ)"
