Are you loving it?
1 John 2:15-17 "15 Love not the world,
neither the things in the world. If any man love the world,
the love of the Father is not in him.16 For all that [is] in the world, the lust of the flesh,
and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.17 And the world passeth away,
and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever"
Lust 1) desire,
craving, longing, desire for what is forbidden. Pride 1) empty, braggart talk 2) an insolent and
empty assurance, which trusts in its own power and resources and shamefully despises and violates divine laws and human rights
3) an impious and empty presumption which trusts in the stability of earthly things. Matthew 10:39
"He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life
for my sake shall find it"
Matthew 16:25 "For whosoever will save his life
shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it"
Matthew
19:29 "And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children,
or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life"
Mark 8:35 "For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever
shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it"
Luke
9:24 "For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it"
Luke 12:15 "And he said unto them,
Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the
things which he possesseth"
Luke 14:26 "If any come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife,
and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple"
To come to Christ is trusting in Him alone for the Salvation of my soul; forget traditions or
commandments of men; and if for this reason I am despised of any, or of all of these relatives, or I loose position or reputation
in this world for Christ's sake, I am for it; that is to hate this world. Psalm 139:21-22 "21
Do not I hate them, O LORD, that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee?22 I hate them with
perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies"
Luke 17:33 "Whosoever shall seek to save
his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall
preserve it"
Luke 21:34-36 "34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged
with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that day come upon you unawares.35 For as a snare shall it come
on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye be accounted worthy
to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man"
John 6:27 "Labour
not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which
the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed"
John 12:25 "He that loveth
his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world
shall keep it unto life eternal"
John 6:35 "And Jesus said unto them, I
am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall
never thirst"
John 6:47-48 "47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth
on me hath everlasting life.48 I am that bread of life.
John 14:6 "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life:
