Where is your heart? Matthew 6:21 "For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also"
Material wealth
Deuteronomy 8:11-20
"11 Beware that thou forget not the LORD thy God, in not keeping his commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes,
which I command thee this day:12 Lest thou hast eaten and art full, and hast built goodly houses, and dwelt;13 And thy herds
and thy flocks multiply, and thy silver and thy gold is multiplied, and all that thou hast is multiplied;14 Then thine heart
be lifted up, and thou forget the LORD thy God, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage;15
Who led thee through that great and terrible wilderness, fiery serpents, and scorpions, and drought, where no water; who brought
thee forth water out of the rock of flint;16 Who fed thee in the wilderness with manna, which thy fathers knew not, that he
humble thee, and that he prove thee, to do thee good at thy latter end;17 And thou say in thine heart, My power and the might
of hand hath gotten me this wealth.18 But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for He that giveth thee power to get wealth,
that he establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as this day.19 And it shall be, if thou do at all forget the
LORD thy God, and walk after other gods, and serve them, and worship them, I testify against you this day that ye shall surely
perish.20 As the nations which the LORD destroyeth before your face, so shall ye perish; because ye would not be obedient
unto the voice of the LORD your God"
The nation of Israel enjoyed material wealth because of the covenant
with Abraham, the people were to remember that God Almighty had given them this wealth. Their trust was to be in the work
of the Almighty (Salvation or free from bondage) not in gold and silver = wealth (money)
Job 31:24-28 "24
If I have made gold my hope, or have said to the fine gold, my confidence;25 If I rejoiced because my wealth great, and because
mine hand had gotten much;26 If I beheld the sun when it shined, or the moon walking [in] brightness;27 And my heart hath
been secretly enticed, or my mouth hath kissed my hand:28 This also an iniquity the judge: for I have denied the God above"
Psalm 37:16 "A little that a righteous man hath [is] better than the riches of many wicked"
God's
elect are righteous because we are found in Christ.
Psalm 49:6-10 "6 They that trust in their wealth, and
boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;7 None can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for
him:8 (For the redemption of their soul precious, and it ceaseth for ever:)9 That he still live for ever, [and] not see corruption.10
For he seeth wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others"
Psalm 52:1-7 "1 Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? the goodness of God continually.2 Thy tongue deviseth
mischiefs; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.3 Thou lovest evil more than good; lying rather than to speak righteousness.
Selah.4 Thou lovest all devouring words, O deceitful tongue.5 God shall likewise destroy thee for ever, he shall take thee
away, and pluck thee out of dwelling place, and root thee out of the land of the living. Selah.6 The righteous also shall
see, and fear, and shall laugh at him:7 Lo, the man made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches,
strengthened himself in his wickedness"
Verse 3 "Thou lovest evil more than good"
Remember Matthew 6:24 "No man can serve two masters: for
either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise
the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon"
Luke 16:13 "No
servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate
the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve
God and mammon"
1 Timothy 6:10 "For the love of money
is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with
many sorrows"
Mammon = treasure or riches
Those who teach physical
commandments (physical tithing, physical water baptism and physical communion) love evil more than good.
Psalm
62:7-10 "7 In God my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, my refuge in God.8 Trust in him at all times people,
pour out your heart before him: God a refuge for us. Selah.9 Surely men of low degree vanity, men of high degree a lie: to
be laid in the balance, they altogether vanity.10 Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase,
set not your heart"
Proverbs 11:4 "Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth
from death"
Righteousness= Christ
Proverbs 11:28 "He that trusteth in
his riches shall fall: but the righteous shall flourish as a branch"
Proverbs 22:1 "A name rather to
be chosen than great riches; loving favour rather than silver and gold"
Proverbs 18:11 "The rich man's
wealth his strong city, and as an high wall in his own conceit"
Proverbs 23:4 "Labour
not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom"
Proverbs 28:22 "He that hasteth to be rich,
an evil eye, and considereth not that poverty shall come upon him"
This poverty is spiritual
poverty; this man does not know the message "Salvation is of the Lord" He trusts in his doings and in the abundance
of material wealth.
Jeremiah 9:23-24 "23 Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise glory in his
wisdom, neither let the mighty glory in his might, let not the rich glory in his riches:24 But let him that glorieth glory
in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I [am] the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness,
in the earth: for in these I delight, saith the LORD"
Matthew 13:22 "He also that received seed among
the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he
becometh unfruitful"
Remember, the Seed is the Lord Jesus Christ.
Mark 4:19
"And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word,
and it becometh unfruitful"
Mark 10:23-24 "23 And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples,
How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!24 And the disciples were astonished at his words. But
Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom
of God!"
Luke 8:14-15 "14 And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go
forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of life, and bring no fruit to perfection.15 But that on the good
ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep [it], and bring forth fruit with patience"
The Lord Jesus Christ took me through many congregations of different denominations, and many Christians brothers after
the service all they wanted to talk was about the cares and riches and pleasures of life, they did not want to hear about
this great Salvation Christ is bringing to His people. Many did not understand when I declared that I had not made a decision
for Salvation.
Luke 18:18-24 "18 And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inherit
eternal life?19 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none good, save one: God.20 Thou knowest the commandments,
Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother.21 And he said,
All these have I kept from my youth up.22 Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing:
sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.23 And
when he heard this, he was very sorrowful: for he was very rich.24 And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, he said,
How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!"
verse 22, "sell
all that thou hast" do not trust you are a child of God because you have this wealth; but today look to Christ for the
Salvation of your soul. It is in your heart that you got to sell all that you have; read the book of Job and you do not have
to go too far to see that he lost it all in one day, but still Job trusted in his God.
verse 23 says
this man was very rich; he was trusting in his doings (verse 21, all these have I kept from my youth) he could not see he
was a sinner and was trusting in his material riches.
Job 1:20-22 "20 Then Job arose, and
rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped,21 And said, Naked came I out of my mother's
womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.22 in
all this job sinned not, nor charge God foolishly"
If God would take this material riches,
would you still trust Him? It was very early in my Christian life that I prayed to my Heavenly Father to make me a Job, to
loose it all and still trust in Him for the Salvation of my soul, and He has done it for His glory.
1 Timothy
6:17-19 "17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but
in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to
distribute, willing to communicate;19 Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they
lay hold on eternal life"
James 5:1-3 "1 Go now rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall
come upon.2 Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten.3 Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of
them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last
days"

let me never be ashamed: deliver me in thy righteousness"
Righteousness = Christ
"6
I have hated them that regard lying vanities: but I trust in the LORD"
Those
who believe in the freewill of man doctrine regard lying vanities; teaching men that they are in control of life, when God
is in control of everything, their destiny also.
"19 how great thy goodness, which thou hast
laid up for them that fear thee; thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons
of men!
To fear the Lord is to proclaim His Salvation.

Matthew
6:19-21 "19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth,
where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither
moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also"
