Abigail is the Lord Jesus Christ as the Servant of God.
I Samuel 25:2-43
verse 41 "And
she arose, and bowed herself on face to the earth, and said: Behold, thine handmaid a servant to wash the feet of the servants
of my lord"
Now go to John 13:1-17
verses 4 and 5 "He riseth from supper, and laid aside his
garments; and took a towel, and girded himself. After that he poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples'
feet, and to wipe with the towel wherewith he was girded"
Abigail = "my father is joy"
Psalm
89:26 "He shall cry unto me, Thou my father, my God, and the rock of my salvation"
This
is who the Lord Jesus Christ is for me: my father, my God and the Rock of my Salvation.
Can you see Abigail
as the Lord Jesus christ? If you do, I just broke the bread (Jesus) and had communion with you; and this is all for His glory.
Abigail is the picture of a true believer (chosen vessel)
John 13:12-17
Verse 14 "If I then,
Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet"
This is a commandment
from the Lord Jesus to His chosen people and this is spiritual.
John 14:15 "If ye love me,
keep my commandments"
John 14:23 "Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love
me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him"
John
15:10 "If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide
in his love"
I John 5:2-3 "By this we know that we love the children of God, when we
love God, and keep his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are
not grievous"
Lets look a true believer washing feet:
Luke 7:36-50 Verse 37 "And, behold,
a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that [Jesus] sat at meat in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster
box of ointment"
Notice that she comes as a sinner (true child of God) and she has a box of
ointment (oil)
Isaiah 61:1-3 1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD
hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to
the captives, and the opening of the prison to bound;2 To proclaim the
acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes,
the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they be called trees of righteousness,
the planting of the LORD, that he be glorified.
Verse 3 "To appoint unto them that
mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
that they be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he be glorified"
The Lord
Jesus has given me the oil of joy, the joy of Salvation that He be glorified.
Psalm 51:12 "Restore
unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me free spirit"
I have been washing feet since the Lord Jesus brought Salvation to my soul. I have proclaimed "Salvation is of
the Lord" not the He is offering Salvation; but bringing Salvation to His chosen people.
This is what I heard at first: Luke 7:48 "And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven" and this is how I have
been since: Luke 7:50 "And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace"
Freewill
of man doctrine teachers had argued with me on verse 50: "thy faith hath saved thee" they say it was her faith that
saved her; but see, these false teachers are deaf, they cannot hear the word of God. They do not understand Ephesians 2:8
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of
yourselves: the gift of God" The woman's faith was a gift of God, it was given to her because she was chosen from before
the foundation of the world to come and wash the Lord Jesus' feet. Our works have been ordained for us that we walk in them.
Ephesians
2:10 "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath
before ordained that we walk in them"
These good works are spirituals,
and when I bring the truth of God's Salvation I am washing the feet of God's chosen people, and there is no wonder He has
given me water (Jesus) out the wells of Salvation.
Isaiah 12:2-3 "2 Behold, God my salvation;
I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH my strength and song; he also is become my salvation.3
Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation"
John
13:17 "If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them"
I wash the feet of God's
chosen people by bringing the truth of His Salvation.
Ephesians 5:25-27 "Husbands, love your wives, even
as Christ also loved the church and gave himself for it; that he sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the
word, that he present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it be holy
and without blemish"
Ephesians 5:32 "This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning
Christ and the church"
The Lord Jesus Christ uses His Word of truth to give life to His chosen people;
a lie will not do it.
I Peter 1:2-3 "1 Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth
through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, love one another with a pure heart fervently.2 Being born again, not
of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever"
James
1:18 "of his own will begat He us with the word of truth, that we be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures"
This
is God's Salvation according to His Word.
Psalm 119:41 "VAU. Let thy mercies come also unto me, O LORD, thy
salvation, according to thy word"
PRAISE THE LORD JESUS CHRIST!
