Who are the "us"?
Psalm 117: "1 O praise the LORD, all ye nations: praise him, all ye people.2 For his merciful kindness is great
toward us: and the truth of the LORD for ever. Praise ye the LORD"
Psalm 126:3 "The LORD hath done great
things for us; we are glad"
Isaiah 25:9 "And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this our God; we have
waited for him, and he will save us: this the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation"
Luke 1:68-74 "68 Blessed the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people,69 And hath raised
up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David;70 As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have
been since the world began:71 That we be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us;72 To perform the mercy
to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant;73 The oath which he sware to our father Abraham,74 That he grant unto us,
that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies, serve him without fear"
1 Corinthians 1:28 "For
the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God"
Ephesians 1:3-6 "3 Blessed the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual
blessings in heavenly in Christ:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we be holy
and without blame before him in love:5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according
to the good pleasure of his will,6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved"
Ephesians 2:4-5 "4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,5 Even when we were
dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved)"
2 Timothy 1:7-10 "7 For
God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.8 Be not thou therefore ashamed of
the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the
power of God;9 Who hath saved us, and called with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose
and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour
Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel"
Gospel
= good tidings Good tidings = 1) to bear news, bear tidings, publish, preach, show forth a) (Piel) 1) to gladden with good news 2) to bear news 3) to
announce (salvation) as good news, preach b) (Hithpael) to receive good news
The Gospel is only
good news when God (through the Holy Ghost) let me know He has chosen me to Salvation through faith (a gift) in the work of
Christ on the cross (shed His blood) for my soul.
The "US" are His chosen people, the elect.
Deuteronomy 7:6-8 "6 For thou an holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a
special people unto himself, above all people that upon the face of the earth.7 The LORD did not set his love upon you, nor
choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye the fewest of all people:8 But because the LORD loved you,
and because he keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath the LORD brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed
you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt" Pharaoh king of Egypt = The
picture of Satan or to be under his power. Many religious people are under Satan's power, trusting in their doings; they
are still in the house of bondmen (freewill of man doctrine)
Acts 5:29-31 "29 Then Peter and the apostles
answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.30 The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged
on a tree.31 Him hath God exalted with his right hand: a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness
of sins"
Forgiveness of sins = peace. All my sins: past, present and future (if I am here tomorrow).
Praise the Lord Jesus Christ.
Spiritual Israel are the "elect" Isaiah 65:22 "They shall not
build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree the days of my people, and mine
elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands"
Matthew 24:21-24 "21 For
then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.22 And
except those days be shortened, there no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.23 Then if
any man shall say unto you, Lo, here [is] Christ, or there; believe not.24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false
prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if possible, they shall deceive the very elect"
Freewill of man doctrine brings a false Christ (begging man to believe) a gospel so close to the truth, that it takes God's
power (grace and mercy) that His elect are not deceived. I trust in Christ alone and find no confidence in the flesh.
Philippians 3:3 "For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have
no confidence in the flesh"
Psalm 33:12 " Blessed the nation whose God the LORD; the people he hath
chosen for his own inheritance"
Psalm 105:43 "And he brought forth his
people with joy, his chosen with gladness"
Have you seen yourself in Jacob? I have by God's grace and
for His glory.
Listen what God tells Jacob (me, a sinner): Isaiah 44:1-4 "1 Yet
now hear, O Jacob my servant; and Israel, whom I have chosen:2 Thus saith the LORD that made thee, and formed thee from the
womb, will help thee; Fear not, O Jacob, my servant; and thou, Jesurun, whom I have chosen.3 For I will pour water upon him
that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring:4
And they shall spring up among the grass, as willows by the water courses"
False teachers say that the "us"
is everybody; now is up to man to make the decision to be one of God' elect. Sounds good without the Spirit of Christ; but
the Scriptures declare that God has chosen His people from before the foundation of the world and will bring this truth
to their souls, that He has done it.
John 15:16 " Ye have not chosen me,
but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye go and bring forth fruit, and your fruit remain:
that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he give it you"
This is my exhortation: 2 Peter
1:10-11 "10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these
things, ye shall never fall:11 For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of
our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ" Are you one of us?
PRAISE THE LORD JESUS CHRIST!
